Today's Takeaway - Toonami is alive!

1/27/12 7:40pm

You know what I really miss? Saturday morning cartoons. Not that crap that kids are watching these days either, I am an old man when it comes to trying to understand those shows. I am talking about shows from when I was a kid. Shows like Reboot, Transformers: Beast Wars, and even Starship Troopers. Now it is pretty difficult to find a channel that has anything like this syndicated (especially since I don’t even have cable), but our intern Shelby turned me onto one of the coolest streaming sites ever.

Toonami Aftermath has everything that the classic Toonami offered and more. The channel is constantly streaming hit shows from generations past whether its Anime (Sailor Moon, DBZ, Robotech), Cartoon Cartoon originals (Dexter’s Lab, Samurai Jack, Power Puff), or Classic cartoons (Thundercats, g1 Transformers, X-Men). There is a pretty strong community backing it with the site hosting a chat, forum, and even a Minecraft server. Did I mention it was free? If you do take advantage of this excellent service, be sure to hit the donate button at least once. Excuse me I have to go, Batman the Animated Series is on. Have a happy Friday!

Damn right Sean! I'm 21 ans to most young children I'm an old lady (nieces) but kids nowadays know nothing of good anime; hell good TV! And when Cartoon Network shut off Toonami, a little piece of me died *sniff* *sniff* So thank you for giving me back my anime youth. And Now I'm off to watch Sailor Moon!!!

Similar to Teletoon Retro it sounds - Transformers, GI Joe, Beetlejuice, Thundercats, Batman. Add in Disney XD with shows like X-Men, Gargoyles. Have to give the site a looksy though.

Oh only classic Toonami. Which is fine, but I really was hoping it's more than that.

If it wasn't for toonami and their game reviews I would have never played Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. You were awesome Toonami and we still miss you.

Here is the review I am talking about if your interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_5saZkpvX4

I've been known about Toonamiaftermath. It is one of the best websites on the internet. I didn't know however the new changes. I just hope Cartoon Network is telling the truth about bringing toonami back

It might happen but I would not hold my breath but its still possible. i know they dumped Toonami in favor of going with their CN real crap. Ever since then they have been trying some way of doing toonami without toonami. Especially with their upcoming DC universe block which has a couple of really good shows.

I mostly miss all the anime I appreciate that Williams Street (aka Adult Swim) has taken on that role hut there are some shows I would really like them to air like One Piece. Speaking of which if they were to bring back Toonami I would like to see as shows One Piece (the funimation version), Symbiotic Titan (an epic show that ended in its prime). and Maybe if we are really lucky the Persona 4 anime (highly unlikely due to the subject material but it would be awesome if they could although if it ended up on Adult swim that would be cool). And who knows we could get other shows that for some reason are insanely popular on toonami. I hope they bring it back.
