Some of my friends have been playing Minecraft for over 2 years now (just about, anyways). However, the game had never appealed to me. Granted, I had never tried it, but I knew what the basis of the game was, and it just didn't interest me. Recently, though, my friends have had some sudden resurgence in playing, and when they would discuss things to do in the game when not playing, I felt a bit left out and a bit intrigued at the same time. So I decided to finally buy it to play with them. And now I love the game. I am really enjoying my time with it, and I have definitely received my money's worth so far with endless hours of playtime still in sight. I wish I had acted way before and bought it when it was still cheap, but oh well.
The TL;DR here is that I was skeptical towards this game for the better part of 2 years, but it turns out that I love it and wish I had played earlier. So give this a try if you're in the same boat I was; you may enjoy it more than you predict.

I pirated this game for a good 6 months, BUT I loved it so much, I felt guilty conning Mojang, so I payed for the full version. Now I play it extensively with two of my best friends and we lose track of time and wind up playing for seemingly endless hours into the night. Its just an amazing experience, this game. I highly recommend everyone at least give it a shot to see what all the fuss is about, and I'm sure a good number of you will be hooked.

Minecraft scares me. I love sandboxes. And building. And endlessness. And I have a lot of imnagination. If I ever started to play Minecraft, my limited self-control would probably end with me playing till I literally pass out sitting.

Whilst my friends had already pushed me into the vast endless world that is minecraft, I thank you for the review. It's a good one. I'm exceptionally glad with how calm you seem to review it, articulate your thoughts properly, and in the end, it's quite a complete story.
To me, Minecraft is a perfect as my imagination allows it, and for the rest we have wiki's.

Must day, I have never come across bugs such as monsters walking through walls. Sometimes the world is loading kinda slow in Multiplayer, but never any problems during singleplayer.

Although I partially agree, I think that they didn't want to make them because they knew that everyone would make their own tutorial videos and the such. Also, if people have already done it, it seems redundant when you can use the resources, however small, for something else.

Yay I made it in the video(mmartinez017) as well as some of my pixel art!
And I must say anyone who is in to sandbox or simple adventure games should get Minecraft. While the learning curve can be tough when it's overcomed Minecraft will deliver one of best sandboxexperiences out there at the moment(in my opinion).
